Developing local capacity in preparation for the transition to green economy is a critical component of the UAE's green growth initiative. In the UAE, GGGI has been supporting the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) on capacity development activities in line with the country's Youth Empowerment Strategy. Activities include organizing regional and local training programs, including public sector training on green procurement (2015), annual green growth knowledge sharing workshops for MENA region (2015-2017), and youth policy dialogue and internships (2015-present).
