To these ends, during 2019, GGGI undertook an electric bus feasibility study for Sajha Yatayat. This study successfully mobilized USD 26 million in investment from the federal government for nationwide electric public bus deployment. In addition, working with local municipalities GGGI prepared investment proposals for the use of electric buses and electric shuttles in the heritage and tourist industries. GGGI also launched the process of building Nepal’s first provincial electric mobility strategy, providing policy and investment guidance across infrastructure, markets, vehicles and financing, and led a delegation of government officials to India to learn from the Government of India’s experience with electric bus deployment.
