Access to affordable, reliable and clean energy is a fundamental requirement for poverty reduction and sustainable development. In Uganda, the electrification of households offers tremendous opportunities for micro-small businesses to contribute to inclusive growth, employment and the development of local markets. This project targets households and micro-small enterprises in lowincome, urban households in the secondary cities and seeks to increase the market penetration of solar home systems by designing appropriate solution(s), like financial mechanisms to increase domestic currency lending, relevant trainings (technical/financial) to SHS market players, capacity development events and workshops for/ with government stakeholders among others.
