Renewable energy and energy efficiency measures are the means to reduce fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The transformation of the global energy system is at the heart of the agenda to reduce the adverse impacts of climate change, and both renewable energy and energy efficiency can play a significant role in this agenda. The assessment identifies opportunities and benefits of the deployment of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency in PNG. The project aims to support UNDP in the development and implementation of specific renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
