Rwanda - Coffee with impact from Rwanda

Pure Africa imports coffee via Direct Trade and provides farmers with accessible Micro Credit Loans. From every kilo of their own sold coffee they invest €1 into microcredit. This DGGF TA funded pre-financing of almost 40.000 kilos of green coffee beans from Rwanda. About half of the pre-financed beans is being sold to other roasters and the other half will be directly sold and will provide around €13.000 worth of micro credit. With this project, 4 direct and 300 indirect jobs have been supported. In cooperation with Progresso, 200 people have been trained on coffee farming, crop diseases and irrigation and erosion.
