Energy Kits to Provide Equal Access to Energy

In order to provide access to energy, Rural Spark B.V. provides plug & play energy solutions (the Rural Spark Energy Kit) to local distribution companies in sub-Saharan Africa. To be able to provide these partners, Rural Spark will have to shorten its delivery time. Having to produce on order, the lead time would be 6 months restricting our partners to place an order. With DGGF-TA Rural Spark was able to produce and shorten delivery times to a month. This second TA consisted of starters kits and larger kits with extra battery packages. With this TA 3 local staff were supported, as well as 275 sub-agents in Kenya, DRC and Senegal. A total of 280 people were trained on how to use the product, how to carry out technical services and sales techniques. The Rural Spark solution enables households and small businesses to gain access to electricity, providing a world of opportunities related to improving income, health and education. The current products and value proposition are only the first step to achieve the true mission and vision. The only way to provide equal access to energy all over the world is to truly innovate the way our energy grids designed, Rural Spark will continue to do that by enabling bottom up, distributed, smart, plug & play energy grids to emerge.
