Pan Hlaing sluices (Additional Task ESIA)

This project is identified by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in Myanmar and part of a broad governmental strategy for the development of the Pan Hlaing area, which involves the construction of a sluice in the Pan Hlaing river. This sluice will help develop the Pan Hlaing river to become a water body, that transports and stores fresh water that can be used for irrigation in dry periods. In addition, the project will contribute to safeguarding and improving the drainage function in periods of excessive rainfall from the adjacent polders and minimise the risk of flooding of areas along the Pan Hlaing river caused by cyclones.D2B finances all studies needed for the construction of the sluice: i.e. the feasibility study, including a deliberate choice for the exact location of the sluice and a conceptual design.Additional Tasks (ESIA)
