Newton - Katip Celebi Fund has been supporting bilateral research projects between Turkey and the UK since 2014. Through a wide range of programmes, researchers from different scientific backgrounds came together to create joint solutions and a positive socio-economic impact in Turkey. Over 130 direct academic connections were created and projects with a broad area of topics, including but not limited to health, environment, material sciences and migration, were assisted. Under different programme schemes, young researchers were supported through their PhD, workshops were organised to share and enrich academic knowledge, joint research teams were created for in-depth research projects and institutional capacity building was enabled through know-how exchange.
