The Newton Agham Fund is an integral component of the Newton Fund, which forms part of the UK's official development assistance programme (ODA). Since 2014, the Newton Agham Fund provides funding to develop science and innovation partnerships that promote the economic development and social welfare of the Philippines. The British Council in the Philippines is working in partnership with the Government of the Philippines, through the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to deliver programmes that benefit Filipino researchers and scientists. Programmes include PhD Scholarships, Institutional Links, Researcher Links Workshops and Travel Grants, and STEM Education Programme.
