Nearly 2 years of conflict has left over 18.8m people in need of humanitarian assistance and forced more than 3m people from their homes. The 2017 Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) noted that the conflict has resulted in 38,279 injuries and 7,272 deaths, paralysing already strained health and nutrition services. Among the affected people are 1.68m older people and 2m people with disabilities. People cannot access food and many are suffering from acute malnutrition. Furthermore, a lack of access to health facilities means that older people’s health and well-being are deteriorating rapidly
