Improving the diet of households in rural areas in Ishkashim, Tajikistan

The project aims to improve food and nutrition security status of population in 13 villages in the Ishkashim region.  The project follows a gender-sensitive, community-based approach involving individual households and the larger community. All activities are aimed at food and nutrition security with a special focus on dietary diversity and hygiene. To achieve the overall objective and sub-objectives, the project will apply the following proven approaches adapted to Tajikistan: (a) Nutrition-sensitive behavior change  (b) Nutrition-sensitive agriculture  (c) Strengthening of structures The reach out is planned to 3.700 direct project participants (ca. 60% of it female) and another 1.200 indirect project beneficiaries.
