Despite government efforts to improve nutrition in Sierra Leone, high rates of undernutrition and malnutrition persist. In an extension to a previous project, Welthungerhilfe is providing further training to established women's groups in villages, educating them on topics such as healthy eating and better hygiene. This combination was chosen because without toilets and clean water even the most resource-efficient, multi-faceted cultivation methods and nutritious diets are next to useless. The women share their newly-acquired knowledge and practices with surrounding villages.
