  • autorenew Implementation (Status)

The project develops and establishes an Anticipatory Humanitarian Action Mechanism (Forecast-based Action/FbA) to address imminent risks of food insecurity in Madagascar, Zimbabwe and Kenya. The mechanism reduces expected impacts of drought hazards on vulnerable communities through the implementation of preventive Early Actions. Key elements are the scientific development of drought risk models, identification of trigger levels, risk and vulnerability analyses and the development of Early Action Protocols (EAPs). Scale-up and extension of the existing FbA mechanism in Madagascar Replication of the FbA mechanism in Zimbabwe and Kenya Respective EAPs are then linked to a Trigger-based Finance Facility to ensure proper financial coverage
