Gruelling and protracted conflicts in northern Myanmar are preventing more than 100,000 internally displaced people from returning to their homes. Many have already been displaced several times and are living in overcrowded, poorly equipped camps with little hope for the future. Further restrictions were imposed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis, resulting in camp residents becoming completely dependent on humanitarian aid, including from Welthungerhilfe. People in 30 camps are now receiving food, drinking water, better sanitation facilities, safer accommodation, and mental health support.
