Climate Mainstreaming Facility (CMF)

The CMF is committed to delivering technical assistance (TA) to FCDO offices, teams and departments via the existing delivery model of the CMF. To achieve this goal, SSN has continued the delivery of TA under the CMF with funding made available by FCDO. The CMF continues to provide TA with an amendment to prioritise support for the Paris alignment of new bilateral programme business cases resulting from the business planning stage while continuing mainstreaming support. The context of FCDO's demand for TA justifies the extension of the CMF. Given the programme cycle and the requirement of offices to consider their bilateral programming through the lens of mainstreaming climate and nature to align with the Paris Agreement, there is a strong argument for the continued delivery of TA by the CMF. The CMF will prioritise supporting Paris alignment activities as guided by the Climate and Environment Programme Operating Framework (PrOF) to deliver FCDO's ambition to ensure that every Business Case (BC) from the planning round complies with PrOF Rule 5.
