The PRIMA-II project is an initiative from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, under the IWRM Programme, that aims to improve the management of transboundary water between Mozambique, the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of South Africa. The purpose of the cooperation is to support the establishment and operationalization of a supra-national River Basin Organization (RBO) for the Incomati and Maputo river basins, having executive power in the management of scarce water resources and managing conflicts. The PRIMA-II project has synergy, whenever possible and appropriate, with IWRM programs in Mozambique. The cooperation between the three countries will lead to the achievement of the main objective of the IWRM Programme which is to improve water safety and water security based on IWRM principles to at least 1.500.000 people.
