The objectives are to revive DRC productive and trade capacity in palm oil production for the internal and export markets and thereby increase employment, contribute towards DRC pro-poor economic growth and specifically improve the income and livelihoods of those directly involved in the palm oil sector. The project aims to achieve these objectives by reinforcing and increasing the capacity of all actors in the palm oil value chain and more specifically target, through this Tier 2 pilot project, family owned rural (village) smallholdings as well as small and medium enterprises in the Mayombe basin (Bas Congo).
