The Royal Government of Bhutan have made tremendous progress in providing policy and strategies on harnessing ICT potential for trade development as highlighted in both the 11th FYP and DTIS 2012. Yet, the access of ICT for trade development is still limited for businesses, and even more so in rural areas. The project seeks to provide a sounder ICT ecosystem for trade development by accelerating access to ICT for targeted sectors (goods and services) and improving data, information and business opportunities available on improved electronic platforms. Besides in-kind and monetary support described above, the project sought resources from four resident development partners (DP) in Bhutan namely the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) the World Bank (WB) and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
