The overall project goal is to reduce poverty, on- and off-farm employment creation, and increase agro-processed products for both domestic and export markets, especially among women and youth (contributing towards MGDS II KPA no. 2; Trade and agro-processing goals). More specifically, the project purposes to support implementation of the Malawi National Export Strategy (NES) to increase competitiveness of the Malawian value-added products (especially oil seed products) for exports through agro-processing special economic zones to the Nacala corridor and SADC/COMESA markets and strengthening oil-seeds smallholder farmers (SHFs) linkage to anchor farmers and agro-processors.
