Capacity development and institutional strengthening for trade in Vanuatu

The project outlines activities and interventions aimed at achieving the four results mentioned above: 1. The first result would be achieved by reinforcing human resources at the Department of External Trade (DET); providing training for staff on technical trade issues; allowing the MTCIT to commission analytical work and collect data, among other such projects. 2. The second result would be achieved by supporting the effective functioning of consultation mechanisms among governmental institutions and with private sector and civil society organizations. Proposed mechanisms aim at raising the profile of trade issues and the trade ministry and help build consensus around trade-related strategies and trade negotiations. 3. The third result would be achieved through prioritising trade issues in high-level dialogue with the donor partners, initiating a donor round-table on trade issues and developing a donor matrix, which builds upon the Vanuatu Trade Policy Implementation Matrix, to integr
