Mozambique is currently in the process of redefining its National Implementation Arrangement (NIA), including the establishment of a National Implementation Unit (NIU) to assist with the implementation of trade-related activities in Mozambique across Government Ministries, private sector and donor groups. The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC) lacks the administrative, managerial, and institutional resources to effectively implement the development and implementation of the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF). The establishment of a National Implementation Unit will be a key step to strengthening institutional capacity and coordination mechanisms, in accordance with the existing national strategies and embedded within existing government structures: 1. Process for reviewing project proposals, efficient implementation and monitoring of Tier II projects enhanced.
