This is an extension proposal for the project “Preparing the public and private sector for climate transition risk in Colombia: capacity-building and call to action” implemented between March 2021 and March 2022. This project leverages on the experience and collaborative work of the consortium led by CFS-Uniandes with the support of WTW and 2DII, to combine experience in applied research in climate risks to inform public policy, private investment and lending that incorporate the climate dimension, and the experience and capacity translating methodologies and research into learning-by-doing courses to disseminate knowledge and drive a call to action towards a more organized, equitable and just climate transition in Colombia. This extension continues preparing the public and financial sector for climate-related risks in Colombia. The first phase focuses on climate transition risks (CTR) with insurance companies and national-level government institutions; the second phase deepens on climate transition risks and incorporates physical risks, as well as new stakeholders on a regional level (subnational government institutions) and new stakeholders in the financial sector (banks and pension funds). This proposal includes 5 workstreams as follows: 1. Applied research on the macroeconomic and social impacts of the climate transition in key regions of Colombia and alternatives for an equitable transition. 2. Capacity-building for public sector: Adapt the course on climate transition risk (phase 1) to incorporate physical risks and target specifically subnational government institutions in Colombia. 3.Capacity-building for financial sector: Follow up to projects and new training to institutions that participated in phase 1 to deepen call to climate action 4. Applied research and capacity-building in climate-related risks for other stakeholders in the financial sector (Banks and pension funds) . 5. Communication of progress and dissemination of new knowledge
