The project intends to catalyse truck renewal, as well as the adoption of low-emission technologies and better environmental practices within the trucking sector in Colombia. It involves research on the feasibility of the adoption of alternative technologies and other green practices within the Colombian RFT sector, and capacity building through undertaking quantitative analysis and analytical modelling, and ensuring two-way knowledge exchange between the project and its key stakeholders. The project objectives are to:1.Close the gap between COP21 targets and the current credentials of the Colombian RFT sector by determining the feasibility of the adoption of green practices within the sector. 2.Develop a strategic business plan for the acquisition and operation of low-emission truck fleets.3.Propose strategies for monitoring and enhancing the green credentials of truck fleets and RFT operations in Colombia The project aims to have effective interaction with key stakeholders to ensure that:-The project data analysis builds on the Colombian context, including regulation, geography, road infrastructure, market structure and hidden incentives.-The project recommendations and findings inform future decisions and actions taken by stakeholders on how they could make their operations greener and lead to transformational change within the sector.
