Promoting the Protection of Civilians in Afghanistan

CIVIC's program in Afghanistan works with the Government of Afghanistan to support implementation of newly-adopted civilian protection policies; mentor nascent Afghan civil society organizations; organize, train, and guide traditional community leaders to engage with armed actors for community protection; and ensure that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) Resolute Support mission prioritizes protection as they increase military operations in the country
