Health Systems Advocacy Partnership Project: ACHEST activities in Uganda

The main implementing partners of HAS Partnership in Uganda are ACHEST – African Centre for Global Health and Social Transformation, Amref Health Africa – Uganda Country Program, and HEPS - Coalition for Health and Social Development (representing HAI). ACHEST activities will fall into three areas:- i) Creating evidence on which to base advocacy strategies through research ii) Developing the capacities of relevant stakeholders in lobby and advocacy ii) Lobby and advocacy for adequate HRH and financing and good governace. In 2016 ACHEST will focus on Inception phase ativities in Uganda including:- 1.Establish project management systems at ACHEST including governance, financial systems operations and communications 2.Engage and introduce the project to stakeholders in Ugnada thorugh an inception workshop and face-to face meeings 3.Baseline and evidence gathering 4. Situation analysis on HRH in Uganda with special attention to the needs of SRH, 5. Situation analysis for financing and governance 6. Mapping of SRHR CSOs active in Uganda, 7. Analysis of policy environment and data on status of performance of existing policies and initiatives. 8. dentification of gaps and opportunities for interventions.
