Connecting Youth to Gainful Entrepreneurship

The Y-Connect is a 25 months project (December 2024 – December 2026) funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands (EKN) and implemented by AVSI Foundation in Nakivale Settlement Isingiro District. The project aims to improve the income of 1,700 refugee and host community youth in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Isingiro District in agribusiness using a multisectoral approach. This project will provide skilling to 1,000 youth Not in Employment Education and Training (NEET) and 600 youth in secondary schools over a period of 24 months. The project integrates a strong learning agenda in which additional 100 youth will be provided with start-up capital only (with no skills or mentorship provided) to research the effectiveness of skilling and mentorship in increasing employment and incomes.
