The Project contributes to alleviate the double jeopardy faced by Palestinian women and girls due to the continued Israeli occupation and its violations of human rights and discriminatory and apartheid policies in addition to the burden of the patriarchal social norms that restrict and impose limitations on women’s rights. Furthermore, the deteriorating governance within the Palestinian Authority inflict additional burden on Palestinian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and women rights’ defenders. These burdens prevent the later to actively work on advancing progressive legal and policy framework that ensures a fair representation and participation of women in peace building processes.
