Strategic Assistance for Emergency Response in Democratic Republic of Congo (SAFER III)

Since November 2019, Mercy Corps, Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), ACTED, Solidarités International (SI), and Concern Worldwide have united as one consortium to deliver Strategic Assistance for Emergency Response (SAFER) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a joint programme to harmonise emergency response among humanitarian actors in DRC, with the overall goal of enabling households affected by conflict and shocks to cover their basic needs. The programme supports the specific outcome of delivering a coordinated humanitarian response that enables vulnerable households affected by conflict and shocks to have safe and equitable access to multi-sectoral emergency assistance to reduce reliance on negative coping mechanisms. This is achieved through the provision of multi-sectoral market-based Cash and Voucher Assistance or in-kind assistance and complementary Water, Sanitation and Hygiene services to meet the basic needs of conflict and shock-affected populations.
