IDH Landscape approach aim to reconcile economic, environmental, and social needs to achieve the sustainable and equitable use of natural resources. IDH uses a Protection-Preservation-Inclusion (PPI) approach in areas where the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems, in particular forests, is threatened by the expansion of agricultural production. The approach starts with convening government, private-sector companies producing in and/or sourcing from the landscape, and farmers and communities in a sub-national jurisdiction.
