On August 4, Beirut was hit by a devastating explosion which flattened most of the city’s port, damaging neighborhoods and buildings across the capital, and leaving at least 150 dead, 5,000 injured. The damage to infrastructure includes offices, residential premises, businesses, hospitals and schools. There are initial estimations suggesting that up to 300.000 people are currently without homes.
