Clingendael Peace Negotiations Programme

Negotiation skills training for conflict groups and mediators is still underdeveloped in the international infrastructure for peace. Ever since the start of our first training programme in November 2014, this central premise has been confirmed by responses from partners and by evaluations carried out in 2016, 2019 and 2020. Previous years have proven that Clingendael Academy fulfills an important niche with this capacity strengthening programme focussed on contributing to conflict resolution through skills training. Our work has had an impact on parties to conflicts all over the world in reaching sustainable and mutually acceptable solutions. Given the proven relevance and effectiveness of our training activities, as well as the large amount of work that remains to be done in the conflict resolution field, we aim to continue our work in the upcoming four years (2022-2026) during this new programme.
