Negotiation Training for Humanitarian Aid Workers

On the 16th of August 2016, World Humanitarian Day, Clingendael Academy was granted the opportunity by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to launch a unique new training program for humanitarian aid workers. For four years, Clingendael Academy would extend its negotiation training offer to the humanitarian sector to increase its capacity to provide humanitarian assistance to those in need. After a few months of preparation, the first training was delivered in July 2017 in The Hague with especially created negotiation simulations and interactive exercises. In 2018, Clingendael Academy saw this programme really take off within the sector with ever increasing numbers of applications for our training courses, at times with three applications per available spot. It appears we are meeting a real demand in the humanitarian sector.
