Especially in areas where semi-nomadic and pastoral populations live, access to clean (drinking) water is behind the national average. Partly due to cultural customs and traditions, there is little knowledge about hygiene and sanitation. As a result, WASH related diseases are common, for example in Kaijado County. In this particular area inhabited by Maasai, the WASH program is implemented.;
