Support to Guatemalan coffee producers’ adaptation and mitigation of climate change

Although there is a National Coffee Producers Association (ANACAFE), and local/regional cooperatives and association in Guatemala, they are still not considering the impact of climate change on coffee production in all its dimensions. Therefore, in this project, FUNDAECO aims to facilitate adaptation measures to climate change impacts for small and medium size coffee producers in Guatemala. This aim is broken down in three objectives: 1) To promote improved policies and governmental programmes that facilitate the adaptation to climate change of small and medium size coffee producers; 2) To strengthen capacities of coffee producers' associations and cooperatives, governmental agencies and civil society organizations to effectively coordinate and support the adaptation to climate change; 3) To increase capacities of small and medium size coffee producers to adapt and support mitigation of climate change.
