In this project, the Coffee Quality Institute will work together with local partners (SOPPEXCCA, PRODECOOP and the Nicaragua chapter of the International Women's Coffee Alliance (IWCA)) to: 1) Integrate gender equity methodologies in their policies and practices; 2) strengthen their capabilities to lobby and advocate for greater gender equity, at the national level, through the National Convening Platform, and at the international level within the global coffee industry; 3) Contribute to a greater exchange of knowledge and research about gender equity in the coffee value chain. It is intended that by the end of 2018, the project partners achieve adoption by the National Convening Platform of gender equity as a key target for sustainability, build a more inclusive supply chain based on measurable improvements in gender equity across the value chain, and raise awareness among producer organizations and the business community on the importance of gender equity advocacy and investments.
