The Global Coffee Platform (GCP) as an inclusive multi-stakeholder sustainability platform for the global coffee sector, aims at supporting the SP program's coffee component through sector-wide approaches on national levels in up to five coffee growing countries, namely Indonesia, Honduras, Kenya, Nicaragua and Uganda. Uganda has a relatively mature and vibrant national platform, founded in 2006. The GCP is closely cooperating with Café Africa Uganda, who hosts the platform's secretariat. A country plan, national policy and and NSC already exist. Key pillars of the GCP Uganda work plan include the extension of the District Coffee Extension Pilot (DCEP) programme, the strengthening of vertical linkages between the national platform and DSCs and the evaluation and improvement of the NSC.
