GLWC - Institutional strengthening

UTZ has given strong support to the Global Living Wage Coalition (GLWC) as a founding member in both time and funding since the inception of the group in 2013. There are a range of core costs necessary to maintain the Coalition through 2016. With the additional funding, the GLWC is able to: 1) Complete and validate (locally) two living wage country researches, with validation events and sector follow up sessions organized. three living wage researches are contracted and in implementation; 2) The GLWC governance structure is operational and long term strategic plans are completed; 3) The Anker living wage manual is published and launch event allow for wide dissemination of the methodology, and; 4) standardized calculation tools and handouts are developed to complement the manual, to facilitate cost and time efficiencies in calculations of living wage benchmarks and also support longer-term coalition goals, such as the roll out of a global living database.
