The purpose of the project is 1,300 poor and vulnerable households with balanced nutrition, access to safe water, income and improved environment by 2017. This will be achieved by empowering women to adopt sustainable practices that diversify and intensify crop and livestock production integrating existing livelihood systems with new income generating opportunities. Through self-help groups (SHGs), women will enhance self-reliant development and integration into local market systems in a sustainable and gender-sensitive manner.;
