2018 ANNUAL ANALYTICAL OVERVIEW

The activities implemented in 2018 were mainly about sub granting, review and advocacy for the passage of the affirmative action bill and domestication of Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act. Below is a list of activities implemented in 2018. 1. Call for Applications for Small Grants Project 2. Engagement of 8 CSOs for sub-granting 3. Inception Meeting with Sub- grantees in Benue and Zamfara States. 4. Advocacy for a Legislation on Quota Inclusion of Women in Decision Making in Zamfara 5. Review of the draft Bill on Quota inclusion of women in decision making in Zamfara State; • Advocacy for the domestication of Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act to Benue State • Merger of Affirmative Action bill with the UNICEF existing Bill in Zamfara State 6. Providing sub-grants to Community-Based Organizations;- • Advocacy Visits to relevant Government institutions in Benue and Zamfara states. • Advocacy visits to respective LGAs & selected Communities • Interactive meetings on rural women’s priority needs • Presentation of Women Needs to relevant MDAs 7. Project Monitoring and Evaluation: • Review meetings with the eight subgrantees in Benue and Zamfara states • Assessment of the impact on the project from other beneficiaries.
