TradeMark Africa's South Africa Programme works to help Africa's most industrialised economy leverage its AfCFTA commitments and position its private sector to compete in the emerging continental market, operating under TMA's 2023–2030 strategy with a deliberately focused remit distinct from the infrastructure-heavy programmes in other countries. The Programme centres on three interconnected priorities: supporting AfCFTA implementation by providing technical assistance to the AfCFTA Secretariat and South African firms navigating the transition to unified continental market rules, rules of origin, and dispute resolution mechanisms; accelerating digital trade transformation by addressing non-tariff barriers, including inefficient standards testing and complex customs procedures, and developing green and digital corridor solutions that capitalise on South Africa's established position as a leading hub for digitally delivered services in the region; and building industrial competitiveness in sectors with cross-border export potential under the continental free trade framework.
