Kasenyi Port Product Improvement

Mahagi (DRC)/Goli (UG) is a very busy border crossing located on the axis between the population centres of Arua (UG) and Bunia (DRC) as well as the longer corridor connecting Mombasa Port and Kisangani. At Mahagi, this project will undertake a detailed design and prepare tender documents for a juxtaposed One Stop Border Post facility comprising of roads, parking, warehouses on DRC side and the rehabilitation and modification of existing buildings and parking and small warehouse. The project proposes the most practical and cost-effective way to bring power to the DRC side of the border. This project is being implemented in 2 phases, the first phase being implemented under project code 2203 as part of strategy 1; consists of the construction of the warehouse, public toilets, retaining walls; fencing and drainage of the site. The present project under the project code 4204 is implemented under strategy 2 and consists of the construction of the car park, the works of which were executed in phase 1, and also phase 2 which consists of the construction of the administration building, the retaining wall, the drilling of water and the operationalization of the one-stop border crossing.
