Safe Trade WiT-Supply Chain Support

Through its Cluster 4 programming, TMEA has designed interventions to address disruptions in food supply chains. The Supply chain Support for Resilience, Relief and Recovery for Cross-Border Food Security program aims to address barriers within the grain sector along the Busia and Namanga border crossings. The programme will deliver interventions across 2 thematic areas; • Trade Facilitation for targeted food supplies- trade Facilitation support to ease the movement of food supplies across borders paying particular attention to women cross border traders. • Enhancing Quality of Food Supplies- Support implementation of EAC SPS SOPs for cross-border trade in grains to ease clearance of goods at the targeted borders. Programme activities will be implemented in partnership with multiple beneficiaries, with component 1 focusing on support to the private sector through grant support to a market facilitator and component 2 through technical assistance to trade support agencies at the border.
