Promoting Equal Rights for Women and Girls with Disabilities (PERD Project)

Based on analysis of their comparable advantages in women and girls’ human rights related interests, organizational competence, values, geographical locations and areas of operation the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), Women in Need (WIN) and Africa Centre for Human Rights and Sustainable Development (AfCHuRSD) are collaborating to implement the PERD Project. The PERD Project is a joint project implemented by women-led organizations (PPAG, AfCHuRSD and WIN) with funding from the Dutch Embassy in Ghana. The interventions is tailored at promoting the fundamental human rights of Women and Girls with Disability (WGDs) particularly the rights to employment and the protection from Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in Ghana. The project will be collaborating with the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD), Ghana Council of Disability and other relevant stakeholders. The team understands the necessity of creating the right ambience for the effective implementation of various interventions to achieve equal economic rights of WGDs.
