In Iraq Mercy Corps’ has established a flexible rapid response mechanism that allows for prompt distribution of NFI kits to meet IDP needs. Direct distribution will be selected in cases where the contents of packages match needs, where families are unable to access markets, where market prices have become very inflated, or where doing so would be burdensome or dangerous due to gender, security, or other concerns. Alternatively, Mercy Corps will support IDPs with an unconditional cash transfer (£125 per household), which is appropriate when the target households have heterogeneous needs, remain highly mobile, and require assistance quickly in areas that are difficult to access. Specific activities will include: • Engagement with local partners • Local procurement of programme materials • Beneficiary selection • Mechanism for Distribution;
