COVID-19 Collective

Covid Collective Research Platform The Covid Collective Research Platform will offer a rapid social science research response to inform decision-making on some of the most pressing Covid-19 related development challenges. The Covid-19 pandemic is a global crisis requiring rapid generation of policy-relevant evidence to inform decision-making as we move from crisis to recovery phase and beyond. The Covid Collective brings together the expertise of, initially, eight partner organisations, coordinated by the Institute of Development Studies. The main functions of the platform will be the: Co-generation of research and evidence through a grant-making mechanism. This will commission work under four thematic bases: governance and politics, social development and inclusion, conflict, and humanitarian. Knowledge curation, learning and strategic communication to encourage and enable evidence-informed decision-making. This will include a range of activities to support mutual learning across geographic and sectoral boundaries. It will identify potential synergies and opportunities for collaboration and strengthen engagement with policy networks and decision-makers. Beyond these primary functions, the partnership approach taken by the Collective aims to build effective, relationships. These will drive collaborative action to address global development challenges. The Collective will promote universality, mutual learning, and the genuine integration of social science evidence.
