Fair Water Futures HF Research and Planning

In response to growing water challenges around the world, NGOs, civil society organisations and governments are working to strengthen accountability in the water sector, to help citizens to demand better services and governance. This community of practice has identified a need for improved knowledge to strengthen the impact of their work. Their proposed collaboration with researchers aims to better understand the determinants of citizen action, constructive governance responses and optimal external support for accountability across different contexts. This planning grant will fund the effective development of this longer-term research programme through: systematic mapping of existing knowledge; engagement with and inclusion of end users; scoping and recruitment of partners and case studies; and detailed programme design.
