British Council are currently working together with Mobaderoon on a 9 month Active Citizens (AC) project in the North East Syria (NES). The intervention started in March and ends end of November (with possibilities of extending further until Feb 2022). To accompany this project, British Council has requested that International Alert (Alert) produce a learning paper which will include: 1. Context and Conflict analysis for NES. 2. The impact the intervention is having on individuals and communities they work with/in. 3. An evaluation of the new AC blended methodology in Syria (conflict affected and low connectivity setting). The evaluation would cover the current project and the pilot which took place in Government Controlled Areas (GCA) in October 20– March21. The project evaluation will be integrated the overall learning paper. This will happen in coordination with British Council Global AC team with whom Alert will be working closely during project period.
