Overall, the program contributes to more inclusive community relations across borders in the Great Lakes region and strengthened cooperation between authorities and communities for a more lasting peace. With the support of the Embassy of Sweden in Kigali, Rwanda (hereon referred to as “Sida Rwanda”), Alert will scale up high-impact initiatives under the MSL project to 4 new project sites/ 2 borders, building on achievements and lessons learned and adding new strategic activities in other sites. The funding will allow the MSL project to run for one additional year (2023) to focus on consolidating change, ensuring results are sustained after the project and recovering from delays experienced as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.
