IATI Identifier:
The proposed project will build on Alert’s current project’s successes in bringing Georgian and Abkhaz youth together, using a P2P approach, to learn and work together on civic activism and engage constructively in conflict analysis. We will expand the project with several new elements – jointly identified as necessary with our project partners – which we consider the logical next steps. These are: (i) inserting a stronger element of conflict analysis through the organisation of simulation games, (ii) including more young people from rural towns and villages, (iii) including different generations of activists, and (iv) putting greater stress on manipulative media narratives and on gender mainstreaming in both the civic education courses, regional institutes and the small grants mechanisms. This aims to help participants engage more effectively with what is perceived as problematic, sensitive content, and embrace them as cross-cutting issues in their own civic initiatives.
