This 19 month project aims to contribute to Uganda’s peaceful development by harnessing opportunities in the oil sector, as it moves from exploration to the early production phase. It brings together government, oil companies and communities living in areas of high oil reserves to develop joint strategies. Consolidating the successes of an earlier phase of the project, it will scale up conflict sensitive business practice within the oil sector, strengthen conflict resolution and prevention mechanisms at the district and national levels and directly support the Government of Uganda in implementing the National Action Plan on Gender and Extractives.
